Survey of cities surrounding Valley of Elah

This video supports the beginning of the account of how David killed Goliath. The first paragraph of 1 Samuel 17 gives the location of the battle “between Sokoh and Azekah” in the Valley of Elah. Goliath arrived from Gath and David came from Bethlehem. Because the Valley of Elah provides a well-traveled road that connected Bethlehem with Philistine territory on the coastal plain, David would have had no trouble finding his brothers or the military stalemate. The last image in this video is of a group sitting on benches at Tel Azekah. The benches are inscribed with verses from 1 Samuel 17. The Valley of Elah is below.
