Jerusalem Temple Mount first century street destroyed AD 70

The Romans destroyed Jerusalem in AD 70, doing great damage to the Temple Mount retaining wall. Archaeologists left some of that debris in place as they excavated other areas around the southwestern corner of the Temple Mount. Jesus told his followers that the Temple would be destroyed. Just 40 years after he spoke the words, his prophecy came true. These stones are from the destruction of the Temple Mount platform (37 acres large), on which the last Temple stood.
