Ephesus wealthy homes

Some of the ruins that have been excavated in Ephesus are homes once owned by the wealthiest people in the city. These images offer a rare glimpse into what life was like for wealthy people living in the Roman Empire. When the Gospel came to places like Ephesus, the “church” met in homes. It is conceivable that some of the first followers of Jesus met in one of these homes. They certainly are large enough to hold a crowd!
