The city of Jezreel once sat at the southeastern corner of the Jezreel Valley, within sight of the Gilboa Mountains. The elevated hill in this video is Tel Jezreel. Only a few ruins have been excavated here, and they’re mostly covered by vegetation. The end of the video has a clear shot of Mt. Gilboa in the distance. Saul fell on his sword on Gilboa. Ahab and Jezebel stole a vineyard from Naboth in this town. Jezebel arranged to have Naboth unjustly charged with a crime and stoned to death to accomplish the deal (1 Kings 21:1-29). Elijah quickly confronted the king and his evil wife at Jezreel. Ahab repented, but Jezebel did not. In time, she was thrown from an upper-story window in the same city (2 Kings 9:33) and eaten by dogs before she could be given a decent burial.
