Gibeah of Saul

Gibeah is 3.5 miles (5.5 km) north of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. This was Saul’s home, a full generation before David turned Jerusalem into his capital. As it was on the main road leading across the ridge of the Judean Mountains, Gibeah had a lot of traffic. It was also a prime target for military campaigns. In this video, you’ll see a large, unfinished concrete building. Jordan’s King Hussein bin Talal began building his palace on top of the ruins of what is believed to have been Saul’s palace. After the 1967 Six-Day War, Jordan withdrew to the eastern side of the Jordan River and the palace was never completed.
