Israel Tour 11 Golan Heights and Caesarea Philippi

International travelers moving north and south from Syria to Egypt had more than one option of  how to cover the ground. Whichever route they chose, they had to follow the water.  Following the Jordan River through the Hula Valley was an obvious choice for many of them. The northern portion of the Jordan River is in the Hula Valley, between the Golan Heights and modern-day Lebanon. A major road connecting the valley with Damascus skirted the base of Mt. Hermon. The cities of Dan and Caesarea Philippi (also called Banias) were along this road. Both cities became centers of pagan worship. Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi with his  disciples (Matthew 16:13). This video is one of several that can provide an overview of Israel, and the Bible stories that happened in a particular region. For more videos like this one, search for “Israel Tour.”
