Stormy Sea of Galilee footage from Filippo Rossi

Good footage of a windstorm on the Sea of Galilee is hard to find. We're grateful to Filippo Rossi for these short clips showing the impact of such a storm on this small lake. Rossi was living and filming in Capernaum when he took this footage.

The Sea of Galilee sits in a bowl, about 700 feet (200 meters) below sea level. When the wind blows through the narrow canyons on the northern end of the lake, it can create a dangerous situation on the water. It's little wonder why the disciples were fearful when a storm began tossing them around while Jesus slept.
