Caesarea Maritima DRONE harbor circle

Since Judea had no natural harbor, Herod the Great wanted to build a new city on the coast of the Mediterran. Herod used an ingenious method of building an undersea rock wall to make a harbor near a small outcropping of rock. The harbor immediately turned Caesarea into a major transportation hub on the Mediterranean. In the book of Acts, Peter meets Cornelius at Caesarea and Paul begins or ends many of his missionary journeys from this harbor. Paul was also held prisoner in the city for two years.
