Garden Tomb 8

The Garden Tomb in Jerusalem is an excellent backdrop to the account of the Resurrection in the Gospels. However, there is no archaeological evidence to support this location as the place where the body of Jesus was placed after his crucifixion. However, because the Church of the Holy Sepulchre completely covers the site where scholars believe the tomb once stood, the Garden Tomb is a more natural place to remember the Resurrection of Jesus. The first detailed study of the tomb was prepared in 1874. It lies in what once was an industrial garden. Since the Bible tells us that the tomb of Jesus was in a nearby garden (John 19:41), speculation about the small tomb in this garden has been a topic of passionate discussion for more than a century. It’s best to use these images only as a backdrop to the Resurrection accounts.
