Bethsaida Et Tell location survey

Home to Simon Peter, Andrew and Philip, Bethsaida was a fishing village during the time of the New Testament. There are two locations vying to hold the title of the famous village. One is about a mile and a half from the northeastern shoreline of the Sea of Galilee, and not far from the tributaries of the Jordan River. Another site has been discovered and excavated in recent years and might be the location of the biblical town. It lies so close to the shoreline, the ruins are partially submerged when water levels of the lake are at their highest.
