Mount Hermon and Mount Sinai

There's a place-and-story connection associated with the Transfiguration event. Jesus took three disciples with him up a "high mountain" between two stops at Caesarea Philippi. That's almost certainly Mount Hermon.

During this supernatural event, Moses and Elijah met with Jesus. Moses and Elijah had experienced their own "high mountain" experiences with God. While we're not positive which mountain Moses and Elijah climbed, tradition holds that they both climbed Mount Sinai in the Sinai Peninsula. This connected two "mountain-top" experiences from the Old and New Testaments.
