Mount Sinai traditional location

This video shows the location and views from Jebel Musa, the traditional location of Mt. Sinai. Be careful to identify this location as “traditional.” Scholars are divided on where Moses saw the burning bush, and where he brought the people after their escape from Egypt. Some popular literature and information on the internet has convinced many Bible readers that the location might have been in the land we know as Saudi Arabia. The event happened so long ago, and the land is so unfriendly for habitation, there is no way of knowing exactly where the actual location(s) might have been. Nevertheless, you can still use this video as an example of how remote the location was, wherever the events happened. This was a land designed to increase the faith of the people who wandered here! Aside from all the stories connected with Moses and the Exodus, it’s also notable that Elijah came to “Horeb, the mountain of God” (1 Kings 19:8). We do not know if Elijah came to this exact location. The point would be that he did his best to go to the place where God had spoken to Moses. Elijah was desperate for a word from the Lord. He also wanted to get as far away from Ahab and Jezebel as possible.
