Shephelah paths

The people of the Bible were walkers. As such, they knew the roads of Israel and surrounding lands with their feet. Most roads were little more than paths. Some paths were through green and lush forests, others were through dangerous areas of the wilderness. Knowing which path to take was vitally important. At times, choosing the wrong path could lead to dire – or even fatal – consequences. At the very least, having to backtrack to find the right path was a serious matter for someone hiking. Little wonder so many Proverbs use “path” as a teaching point. Jesus also told his followers that he was “the way.” The Greek word he used can also be translated “road,” or “path.” We have several videos that illustrate the paths in and around Israel.
