Colosseum rise up

The entire New Testament is set in the context of the Roman Empire. The greatest symbol of the empire still surviving in Italy is the Roman Colosseum, which wasn’t completed until AD 80. Paul, therefore, never saw it. The Colosseum is the largest standing amphitheater ever built. It held up to 80,000 and was, at times, home to some of the most violent scenes ever presented as “entertainment.” There are several short clips available here, and one longer one that combines several clips with music.
