First Missionary Journey 03 Cyprus to Pisidian Antioch

This is one of a series of maps that will follow Paul's missionary journeys. From Cyprus, Paul, Barnabas, and John Mark sailed to the southern coast of what is now called Turkey. Their first recorded stop was Perga, where John Mark left the two older men. They had two routes from which to choose on reaching Antioch of Pisidia. This map shows the most logical route, taking them through the valleys via Isparta. Note the mountains in the distance. Travelers almost always took the roads that led through passes, which is why Isparta grew into a large community. Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch long enough to reach the entire city with their message. Opposition arose, and they left for communities to the east.
