Birds over Sea of Galilee and Jordan River

Israel is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the west and the Jordanian deserts to the east. With an abundance of land, vegetation and fresh water, this narrow “land bridge” between Europe, Asia and Africa is a natural migratory route for birds. When Jesus told his disciples to consider the “birds of the air,” there’s little doubt that there were plenty of birds in the air as he spoke the words!
